Legal Knowledge: He never makes an independent analysis. Even if he's thinking of a certain ruling, he'll ask the prosecutor and go along with their ruling. He made rulings that were critical to my case without me present or giving me an opportunity to be heard such as custody and removal of my child. Also, allowed the opposing to admit fabricated medical records as evidence without a court order or subpoena for these records and then proceeded to ignore evidence to the contrary. he also never inquired into my indigency to appoint an attorney and ultimately forced me to proceed pro se during custody/adoption battle over my son. During the final adoption hearing, the one and only hearing I was made a party to, he sustained wrongful objections so that exculpatory evidence for myself was excluded from the record. A valid conflict of interest was never disclosed to me when he appointed me his former law firm partner for 5 years before taking sita's judge, as my appellate attorney, who then failed to mention the deadbang winners as if it was almost purposefully deficient. allegedly, he gives all his cases like mine to this specific attorney. Fairness & Impartiality: This judge definitely has a deep rooted bias against mothers and more specifically mothers who suffer from substance abuse. This bias has been demonstrated in open court. He told an inmate, "I don't see why DCBS would be looking to return the child,...you better get this right because I don't have patience for people who love drugs more than their children," and then links his bias to his judicial decisions,"I won't say no more because I'm the judge who hears TPR's" He has prejudgements based on these bias so he will deny evidence that goes against these prejudgements. He coerced perjury from the bench after catching them in a lie where he then we asked the question to where she provided a different answer. and he allowed this after he scolded her for not being truthful. It's evident that he sides with where the money is. Judicial Temperament: He is very arrogant and disrespectful. After firing my public defender, he denied a continuace before I'd even requested one, saying he would not move the trial date for me to find counsel. I've been drug through this case for over 3 years now and have had 3 attorneys and only 1 of those actually had a zoom conversation with me within those 3 years. He speaks down to litigants and is very rude to them. Communication: Not good at all with communication. After having all prior hearing before the final adoption hearing without me, without anytime to prepare a defense, he denies a continuance and forces me to proceed pro se only giving a 3 minute discussion on how the hearing was going to go. he uses very manipulative tactics like conflating the right to counsel with a readiness to proceed and using it as a valid waiver. Timeliness: this is one of the most concerning areas for judge Hendricks. we as litigants have to arrive at 8:30 a.m. and if we're lucky he might show up by 9:30 to get started. then he takes, what is supposed to be a 10-minute break, at 10:30 and we arrive back by 10:40 and if we're lucky he might be back by 11:15 only to release us at 12:00 for what should be an hour lunch. we get back at 1:00 and we wait an extra 45 minutes to an hour for the judge to hopefully return by 2:00. most hearings that I've set through I've had to be let out by one of the bailiffs because the courthouse had already closed and they had to lock the doors. because of his untimeliness he couldn't get through his docket for the day without the courthouse closing first and that's been on many occasions. he demands timeliness from you but gives untimliness which is very unprofessional in my opinion.

Legal Knowledge: Judge Joe Hendricks takes KY’s presumption of equal parenting law entirely too far and give 50% parenting time to parents (mostly fathers) who are violent felons and who’ve never played a caretaking role in their child’s life. At times, he will not even allow in evidence to rebut the presumption of equal parenting time. He repeatedly demonstrates a bias against women and in rare instances when he gives primary or sole custody, it’s to a man to punish the mother for trying to protect her child. So many children have trauma, attachment issues, and inconsistent lives because of this judge’s custody rulings. He also does not recuse himself when proper. Fairness & Impartiality: In family court, if you are a mother, he is automatically against you having anything over 50% custody. Judicial Temperament: he’s not hot-headed but if he thinks a mother is too attached or protective of her child, he will punish her by allowing the father access, even if he’s been abusive. Communication: he doesn’t even allow in evidence if it doesn’t go in favor of how he’s already decided he’s going to rule. Timeliness: he’d rather be jogging around town
